PWTSA Sewage and Effluent Plants
PWTSA’s Sewage and Effluent treatment plants are designed to treat both municipal and industrial effluent, which consists of wastewater, sludge or sewage. Ensuring municipalities deal effectively with domestic wastewater, helping them enhance the sanitation in towns and cities while minimising the adverse environmental impact caused by improper discharge.
PWTSA’s sewage and effluent treatment plants are tailored to remove harmful pathogens, clear hazardous chemicals, detergents and toxins, and separate and extract valuable substances from effluent. Industrial wastewater itself contains a diversity of impurities, requiring special treatment processes.
Water recycling is the process of taking effluent (wastewater and sewage) and treating it so that it can be reused. For potable (drinkable) use, the recycled water must be treated to a sufficiently high level that it’s suitable for human consumption.
